Dr. Griff Gordy was born and raised in Phenix City, AL. He graduated from Central High School in Phenix City in 1994. Dr. Gordy continued his education at AUM where he graduated with a degree in Psychology May of 1999. In May of 2003 Dr. Gordy received his Doctor of Optometry degree from UAB School of Optometry.
In June of 2003 Dr. Gordy joined Primary EyeCare Associates in Montgomery, AL. He enjoyed 4 successful years with this private practice. During his time at PEA, Dr. Gordy served as President of the Central Alabama Optometric Association. He also received Montgomery Advertiser's Reader's Choice Award for Best Optometrist of Montgomery County in 2006.
Dr. Gordy has now moved back to his hometown of Phenix City and achieved his dream of opening Gordy EyeCare on August 20, 2007.
In his spare time, Dr. Gordy enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family and friends and does radio color commentary for the Central Red Devils football games.
Jennifer Okamoto is the Office Manager for Gordy EyeCare. Her duties include patient coordinator, insurance billing, optical dispensing, and scheduling. Jennifer is originally from Prattville, AL.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Davidson is our Contact Lens Manager / Optometric Technician. Mary has recently taken over the contact lens department of Gordy EyeCare, we are thrilled to have her and the expertise she brings!
Mary has over 15 years of experience in this area of our practice. She is in charge of managing all of the contact lens related roles at Gordy EyeCare. She also works as a technician and in the optical as needed. As you can see, Mary is a key utility player for the Gordy EyeCare team!
Mary is originally from Alexandra, LA. However, she currently resides in Fortson, GA. In her spare time, Mary enjoys working outside with flowers and other landscaping jobs. Any other time you will find her hanging out with her family and friends.
Kay Edmonds is the Patient Relations Coordinator. Kay has been a dedicated employee to Gordy EyeCare since April of 2008. Her duties include but are not limited to that of patient coordinator, insurance verification, accounts receivable, and patient scheduling. Kay brings 20 years of experience in the medical field to Gordy EyeCare and we are proud to have her on our team!
Kay was born and raised in Phenix City. She graduated from Smiths Station High School in 1985. She has a daughter, Alexandra (13) and a son Dayton (11). In her spare time Kay enjoys spending time with her family, friends and loves cheering her son on at his baseball games.
Missy Lynn joins us as the newest member to the Gordy EyeCare team and we are excited to have her on board! We are pleased to welcome Missy as our Optician and Optical Manager. Missy loves working to help others and is here to assist you with selection of frames and lenses as well as any adjustments and/or repairs you may need.
Missy is from Opelika, AL where she graduated from Opelika High School. She has lived in Phenix City for over 20 years. Missy has been serving her community in the optical business for over 21 years now. Missy has three girls, Brittany, Desaraye, and Victoria. During her spare time Missy enjoys being with her family and friends.
Becca Aszman is the Clinic Coordinator and Optometric Technician at Gordy EyeCare. Her duties include pre-testing patients, performing visual fields, retinal photography, clinic scheduling, exam room stocking and upkeep, as well as helping out with contact lens trainings.
Becca is a recent graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She obtained this degree while also being a member of the Lady Blazers softball team. Becca has future aspirations to become more involved in the medical field ... aka Dr. Aszman!
